Teacher of Science job summary
The Holgate Academy are recruiting a talented, dynamic and ambitious Teacher of Science who has a passion for the subject. We are looking for a teacher who is:

This opportunity is suitable for a new entrant to the profession or an experienced teacher. We would welcome a teacher returning to work after a career break and will consider part time or flexible working where possible.
As part of our strong established science team we can offer you:
- Your own lab to teach in allowing you to be fully ready to teach your lessons and students can be ready to learn
- Experienced technicians who can support new (and established) teachers with practical lessons
- A-level teaching at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre. GCSE students also have the option of taking separate sciences
- The opportunity to run an after school club. Our science faculty currently runs a variety of STEM clubs including Robotics club and a chemistry club
- Sensible homework and marking policy which was developed by teachers within the science faculty and workload assessed
- Scheme of work developed as a team with shared resources for each topic area
- Supportive CDP for NQTs, RQTs and established teachers
- A collaborative and supportive network of science teachers and technicians and good progress opportunities across our trust
- Tea & Coffee fund, Friday chips, breakfast sandwiches and cakes to support the wellbeing of everyone in the Holgate Science Team.

We are a large secondary academy for students aged 11-16 years based in Hucknall and, together with our partner academies, offer post 16 study at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.
We support our young people, so they enjoy their time at the academy and play a key part in all that academy life has to offer. We are immensely proud of the successes achieved by our students and we constantly strive to do more and be even better. Our ultimate purpose is very simple – to do everything that we can to ensure that our students leave ready to take their place in an increasingly complicated and competitive world.
