Teacher of Science job summary

Teacher of Science
Mainscale
Full time

We require for April /September 2020, an enthusiastic graduate qualified to teach science at both GCSE and A Level.

A visionary and experienced teacher, you will combine deep knowledge of your discipline with the ability to engage students from all backgrounds and create a lifelong love of learning.

Trinity Academy is a vibrant community, with strong and fulfilling relationships between students and teachers arising from our Christian ethos. Combining a culture of care with deep passion for raising standards, we go the extra mile every day to transform outcomes for our 1,300 students, aged from 11 to 18. With a knowledge-rich curriculum and an evidence-based approach to teaching, we’re determined to release the full potential of everyone who studies or works here. Our achievements speak for themselves: whilst we serve an area of relatively high deprivation, former students have gone on to become world-class in their field. What’s more, our impressive facilities, extensive grounds and easy motorway links to Leeds, Sheffield and Hull make this the perfect place to build your future.

If you share our core values, you can join a strongly led department and make your mark at the heart of a closely-knit science team. We will look to you to broaden our curriculum, bringing your subject to life as you help our students gain the knowledge and qualifications they need to become a leader in their generation. In particular, you will ignite a love for your subject, identify and actively address gaps in learning, coach students in revision and examination technique, and give parents clear and involving feedback as you take our provision to the next level.

In return, we offer exceptional investment in your professional development, enabling you to gain the skills to accelerate your career. You will also enjoy outstanding pastoral support via our membership of Care First Lifestyle, as well as wide-ranging benefits including a daily meal allowance and access to our excellent gym facilities both before and after school.

If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in an Academy which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself and your students, please do contact us. For further information about the post please contact Mrs Aldsworth on 01405 8132000 or email recruitment@trinityacademy.org.uk .

Closing date: 12 noon Monday 27th January 2020.

We take our responsibility to safeguard children very seriously and successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check along with standard pre-employment safeguarding checks.

Commitment to safeguarding

Trinity Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Where the post is engaged in regulated activity, and/or an opportunity for contact with children the position will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. In addition, as part of the shortlisting process, and in accordance with statutory guidance, we may carry out an online search (for publicly available material) to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened which we may want to explore with shortlisted applicants at interview.
