What skills and experience we're looking for

The School:

Wilsthorpe School is a high-performing academy that is well on the path to becoming an outstanding school. Everyone in the school believes in our journey of improvement and shares common goals. Strong relationships exist between students and staff which are open, warm, and friendly and these relationships have led to excellent attitudes to learning.

The role:

Science is an area of strength at Wilsthorpe. The team comprises 11 teachers and 2 technicians, working across 10 teaching laboratories. The curriculum offered is broad and balanced, extending to Forensic Science and Applied Human Biology at Post-16 level, as well as A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Students are at the heart of everything that we do at Wilsthorpe School and this is an exciting opportunity to join our established Science Department. As a supportive and friendly team, we are looking for someone who can deliver student focused teaching through challenging lessons and whose passion for teaching and their subject shines through and is evident for all to see.

The person:

The successful candidate will be hard-working, dedicated and focused. We welcome applications from someone with the drive and commitment to consistently place the quality of our students learning and progression at the centre of what they do every day. This opportunity would suit an ambitious ECT or experienced teacher looking for a new challenge.
