What skills and experience we're looking for

We know Science is difficult to recruit to. We know that Science teachers are in high demand, but we also know that we provide excellent facilities and support in an Academy that was a specialist in Science during the Specialist Schools programme. We are an amazing place to work surrounded by supportive colleagues.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to making a difference to students and their life chances. You will have the opportunity to teach A level provision as well as the range of other year groups.

We are part of the Shaw Education Trust which brings with it amazing professional development opportunities. Many of our colleagues have gone on to rapid promotion thanks to the support from our Insititue of Education. There is access to masters level accreditation, the full range of NPQs as well as a wide range of other personalised opportunities.

Why not join the Fortis Family? We are looking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science who can engage students and ignite their academic potential. The successful candidate will find our students enthusiastic, eager to learn and willing to co-operate. Most importantly, our students will enjoy working with you.

Support from established and experienced colleagues is available and therefore the post is suitable for a newly qualified teacher or a more experienced teacher wishing to gain further experience.

From September 2022, we are launching our Digital Transformation Strategy, where students will learn by iPad and staff will develop their skills of teaching and learning though Apple Technology as well as in the traditional way. This is an exciting opportunity for a progressive and ambitious teacher.

What the school offers its staff

You will be joining a friendly, happy, vibrant 11-18 Academy which is highly successful, serving a multi-cultural and diverse community, where your innovation, creativity and passion will be valued and fostered.

Colleagues within the Trust benefit from:
