Teacher of Science job summary

Teacher of Science

Our team are looking to welcome a motivated teacher, full or part time, with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning and excel in Science. We are a fast developing and innovative area of the school and have made Science an extremely popular and successful subject at Myton.

In the last set of public examinations in 2019, 79% of our students achieved 2 or more GCSE science qualifications at grade 4 or above. 20% of these students achieved at least two grade 7’s. At A Level, our sciences contribute to our Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” 6th Form with consistently strong outcomes in all courses.

At Myton, we are proud of the supportive and rewarding environment we have created. We have high standards and a good reputation, built upon the hard work and dedication of our staff. We recruit people who are passionate about education and young people, and who have the knowledge, drive and personal qualities to inspire our students.

As well as being academic, we are also highly inclusive and want all students to develop a love for science and to think like a scientist. As a happy and purposeful community, we offer students an exciting curriculum and a huge range of extra-curricular opportunities within a safe, secure and supportive environment. With enduring values of care and mutual respect we support hard-working staff as well as students and families.

We welcome applications from ECT’s looking for their first teaching role or more experienced colleagues looking to work in with school with high standards and incentives for sharing best practice. There will also be opportunities to work collaboratively and for professional development.
