What the school offers its staff
Science is a very large and successful faculty at Springwood. We have an established Knowledge Rich Curriculum which is fully resourced, providing Science teachers a consistent set of resources for every lesson and a structured plan in a common format. We offer Triple Science at GCSE and a wide range of courses at Key Stage 5 including A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BTEC Applied Science. Record results in recent years has seen student numbers grow with 200+ students currently following a Science pathway at Key Stage 5. There are currently 15 Science teachers with dedicated technicians for each of the sciences who allow us to embed practical work into every aspect of our courses. All teachers have their own specialist classroom, which is well-equipped including access to a visualiser and a range of excellent scientific equipment.

Springwood High School (part of West Norfolk Academies Trust) is seeking to appoint a permanent, full time Teacher of Science to join their high-achieving and friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early career teacher or experienced teacher who is committed to enabling all students to achieve the very best they can and is dedicated to their own professional development.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the teaching of Science and able to lead and inspire others to achieve success. They will be an excellent classroom practitioner with an understanding of high quality teaching and learning with an excellent subject knowledge.
