What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science to join an experienced team in our highly successful school. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people, be creative, dynamic, enthusiastic, hardworking and demonstrate resilience - the work of a teacher is demanding! This opportunity is open to professionals at whatever stage in their career, as we seek to only appoint those of the highest calibre. In return, you will join a happy and harmonious school community that prides itself on valuing its best asset, the staff. We offer an excellent professional development programme in-house and support colleagues to attend external training linked to their role and career ambitions. Our approach to performance management has been transformed and is now based upon self-propelled learning linked to one school priority as opposed to a series of individual targets. Whilst at our school, colleagues are expected to have a strong work ethic, they are treated as individuals and with kindness and decency.
We do not take recruitment lightly. Choosing a teacher to be responsible for so many student outcomes is taken very seriously and not ever done for the sake of filling a gap. It is really equally important to us that the right candidate chooses our school because they believe in what we are trying to achieve and the way in which we do this. The job is never done and every year we have different students arriving all with their unique personalities, aspirations and desires. We celebrate this and do whatever it takes to make sure they have the best possible memories of school but also the right academic profile.
What the school offers its staff
Everyone within the Hayfield School community places great importance on the development of the whole person whether this is a student or a member of staff. The school has a strong ethos and there is a sense of pride among staff and students for the quality of their work together. Leaders at all levels are ambitious and continuously focus on securing improvement. The effective sharing of best practice and high quality CPD opportunities underpin the school's vision, that we are all part of the learning community. You will be joining an ambitious and innovative school, so we are looking for a highly skilled member of staff who can secure positive outcomes for our learners and make a positive contribution to the team.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
