What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a teacher of Science to join a successful and vibrant department from September 2023. The applicant appointed will be highly motivated, hard-working and passionate about their subject. They will also:

  • Be committed to the pursuit of excellence in all activities relating to Science demonstrated by a drive to strongly improve attainment, positive attitudes to learning and positive experiences so that all students are prepared for the next stage in their education, training or employment in Science based or other areas.

  • Contribute to the success of Science overall.

The type of person we are looking for can demonstrate:

  • a passion for science; teaching & learning;

  • a commitment to continued professional development;

  • good organisational skills and high standards;

  • a sense of humour;

  • a resilient individual who can adapt to changes in educational theory and practice;

  • an ability to accept and act on constructive feedback;

  • an ability to work on their own initiative but also to work effectively within a team

  • excellent communication skills;

  • a commitment to the betterment of the whole school ethos and the role science provides within that.
