Job description

Teacher of Science
Required for September 2020

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and committed teacher/leader to join our high achieving and over-subscribed 11 - 16 community school. Romsey School is a wonderful place to work and to learn and the science department a close-knit and supportive team. If you are engaging, knowledgeable and committed to getting the best out of young people, we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate will join our innovative and successful Science Team to teach all age ranges and scientific disciplines within this high performing (and constantly improving) school. We are dedicated to enhancing young peoples' lives and we aim to provide a world class education through developing our pupils' Habits of Mind and “Expert Scientist” way of thinking. We are proud that we are currently top of the Hampshire league tables for value added results and we have recently been recognised for our work with vulnerable pupils as we have won the Regional Pupil Premium Award.

We welcome applications from NQTs who will follow an excellent support programme. We ensure that all members of staff experience an interesting Professional Learning programme which is grounded in research.

The school has been accepted for Multi Academy Trust status and Oakfield Primary School is the first school to join us in 2018-2019. As part of our bid we have formed a strategic alliance with The Halterworth Teaching Schools Alliance (Primary) and Barton Pevril College (6th Form) in order that we can support any phase of school. The Romsey School will be the lead secondary school in the newly formed trust.

Please see the school website www.romsey.hants.sch.uk for an application form. Applications should be on Romsey School forms. Individual CVs will not be accepted. The ability to offer a second subject would be preferable but not essential.

The Romsey School is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to safeguarding children.
