We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our committed and experienced Science department, where our students are our greatest asset. This is the role for you if you want to develop your teaching practice to be the best and genuinely believe in the ability of all students to succeed. This role is for a September 2021 start.

The person


We are looking for a teacher who is highly organised, resilient and enthusiastic. You will have:

  • a degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status
  • a commitment to high academic and behavioural standards
  • effective teaching, student management and communication skills.
The role 


This is an important role for our academy as we continue our journey to achieve outstanding status. To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • plan teaching to ensure progression of all students
  • monitor results to ensure continuous improvement to teaching
  • carry out form tutor responsibilities for an assigned group of students.

The St Leonards Academy is a secondary sechool for 11 to 16- year olds in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. We have a clear vison of what creates successful learners and how to implement it. Our pupils are enthusiastic about learning and take pride in themselves. Our school values of potential, respect, integrity, determination and excellence run through everything we do. We are one of twenty TEEP Ambassador schools in the UK. Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement; that we have been selected as an ambassador school speaks volumes for how crucial a part of our culture teacher development is. We offer 300 student places each year and have a total capacity of 1500. We also host a special facility for up to 20 young people withphysical disabilities and severe autism.
