This is an exciting and rare chance to join our Bearsted campus and play a pivotal role in its success and development, laying the path for future years. Our successful candidate will be an experienced teacher keen to work in our ASD setting who can make a real impact on the students in our care.
As students transition into Key Stage 4 their respective levels help to inform a discussion regarding which pathway they enter for English, Maths and Science. We have 2 pathways; Curiosity pathway and Spirit pathway, (named after Mars Rovers!) Curiosity pathway follows and works towards a GCSE qualification, whilst Spirit pathway works towards Functional Skills (Level 1 & Level 2). Therefore, a Science practitioner who is confident in delivering this subject at GCSE level would be desirable.
Our teaching staff at Snowfields Academy will provide outstanding educational opportunities for all of our pupils in order to ensure every student reaches their full potential. We are looking for outstanding practitioners who are creative and imaginative teachers with the ability to plan highly effective learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students. Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of all pupils are essential as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and new assessment framework. As a specialist ASD provision we will be looking for experienced mainstream teachers who have a real passion for meeting the complex and holistic needs of young people with ASD. Experience in an ASD/SEN is desirable.
We offer an exceptional learning environment designed and resourced to meet the needs of our learners who all have an EHCP with ASD as their primary need. You would join a highly experienced and passionate department of science teachers with a supportive and inspiring Director of Learning who is head of the department. All of our students have their own devices so there is plenty of opportunity for blended teaching and learning.
We are looking for teachers who:
- Are graduates with QTS
- Have evidence of outstanding practice with students with additional needs and ASD

- Have the ability to nurture, inspire, motivate and engage students with ASD to achieve and succeed
- Are able to form positive relationships with students, staff, parents and governor
- Possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Please note that interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis with the view of a successfulappointment being made before 31st May 2024.

- A stunning environment with modern building, excellent resources and facilities, purpose built for students with ASD
- A strong commitment to support professional development opportunities
