What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science (Biology).

You will work alongside Principal Jessica Stevenson, the Curriculum Director and UTC staff to develop a centre of excellence focusing on Health Science / Sports Science and Computing. Together under the direction of the Curriculum Director you will support the delivery of a range of qualifications from GCSEs, L3 technical vocational qualifications in Applied Science. Specific qualifications can be found in the curriculum information sheet found on the UTC website. The ability to teach Biology at GCSE and A Level is essential. For the right candidate opportunities are available to teach science aspects within the Health specialisms. There may be opportunities for part-time working.

You will be a highly skilled practitioner who understands the challenges of educating 13-19 year olds in an employer led technology rich environment. Effective partnership working is absolutely critical to the UTC’s success. We also welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who have the skills and attributes to develop their expertise within our unique environment.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor the UTC Sheffield which opened in 2013, Specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs/A Levels and a technical specialism.
