Teacher of Science (Biology) job summary

Are you an inspirational Biology teacher who is looking for an opportunity to work in an exciting and innovative department within a collaborative and ambitious school?  If so, this is an excellent opportunity for you to join our caring Church of England secondary school in south-east Northumberland.  You will be supported to develop your career, at the same time as making a difference to the lives of our pupils and community. 

 

We require a Biology teacher, who may also be required to teach the other Science subjects at Key Stage 3.  You will make a great addition to the team if you are committed to delivering the best teaching, learning and assessment opportunities for our students, and are capable of inspiring and motivating them through your passion for Biology and Science.    The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are capable of delivering consistently high quality lessons, and that they are energetic, enthusiastic, creative and resilient.  An ability to teach to GCSE level is expected, as is knowledge of current educational thinking and strategies to raise attainment.

Duke’s Secondary School is part of the NCEA Trust. We are an 11 to 19 academy based in Ashington and our pupils come to us from across Ashington, Newbiggin and Lynemouth.
