What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join a successful and thriving Science Department from September 2024. We have the flexibility within the department to consider applications for part time teachers from 0.4fte - 0.6fte to teach either Biology or Chemistry.

Newly qualified teachers, wishing to gain wide subject experience in a supportive environment, or more experienced teachers who are seeking the opportunity to develop their teaching further are welcome to apply.

What the school offers its staff

The Science Faculty has a friendly and hard-working atmosphere with all staff striving to achieve the highest possible outcomes.

In Years 7 and 8, students study our own KS3 Science course in line with national curriculum requirements. From Year 9 to Year 11, all students study separate sciences, following the AQA GCSE specifications. More than 60% ofstudents are awarded grade 7 - 9 in their science GCSEs.

The department also offers GCSE Astronomy.

A very large proportion of students continue to study the Sciences at A level with a number continuing each year to study Science at Oxford or Cambridge.
