The UTC Sheffield Academy Trust is pleased to be recruiting for our UTC on the Olympic Legacy Park that opened September 2016 offering exciting new opportunities for students in Health Science, Sport Science and Computing. The UTC opened within the Sheffield UTC Academy Trust, which has a wealth of experience with 2 UTCs in Sheffield, both graded Ofsted ‘Good’, along with UTC Derby Pride Park, who joined the Trust in December 2019, which is yet to be inspected.
We aim to deliver an outstanding educational experience grounded in real, relevant workplace practice. Partnerships with world-class companies, schools, colleges and universities give our students a unique start to their future careers. We provide training today for the jobs of tomorrow. Our cutting edge facilities and engagement with employers’ / university partners provides an exciting environment in which to teach and develop professionally.
You will work alongside Principal Jessica Stevenson, the Curriculum Director and UTC staff to develop a centre of excellence focusing on Health Science / Sports Science and Computing. Together under the direction of the Curriculum Director you will support the delivery of a range of qualifications from GCSEs, AS & A2 and L2 & L3 technical vocational qualifications. Specific qualifications can be found in the curriculum information sheet found on the UTC website. The ability to teach Biology to A-Level is essential. For the right candidate opportunities are available to teach science aspects within the Health specialisms. There may be opportunities for part-time working.
You will be a highly skilled practitioner who understands the challenges of educating 13-19 year olds in an employer led technology rich environment. Effective partnership working is absolutely critical to the UTC’s success.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor UTC Sheffield City Centre, which opened in 2013. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs or A Levels and a technical specialism.
