Teacher of Science job summary

Teacher of Science
Required for September 2022
Enhanced United Learning Salary Scale
ECTs welcomed

At The Regis School, we enjoy building positive relationships with young people in a culture of high expectations of staff and students, strong discipline, and a determination to achieve ‘The Best in Everyone’ through limitless ambition.

As a result of increased curriculum demand, we are seeking to appoint an inspirational practitioner to join our science team. We would be excited to hear from you if you are new to teaching and looking for the right school to start your teaching career, or are a more experienced teacher seeking a new challenge, such as an ambition to teach A Level or work for a large multi academy trust. You would be joining a large and growing department, full of dedicated, driven science teachers working towards the common goal of providing our students with the very best education and, ultimately, securing year on year best ever results at GCSE and A level. Science is a hugely popular subject at the school, attracting increasingly high numbers at A Level.
We offer pay scales above the national standard with rapid progression for those who get consistent outstanding student outcomes, reduced gym membership to our on-site gym, reduced fees for the on-site nursery, and a laptop. There is a car leasing scheme and all staff can access ‘Perkbox’ offering discounts in weekly shopping, high street stores and flights and holidays. Why? Because we want the best for all our staff as well as our students!

As a United Learning academy, we have the opportunity to collaborate with other science departments locally and across the country. We have played our part in developing a comprehensive scheme of work which is shared across the academy trust and have developed a rigorous and structured teaching and learning policy which makes planning lessons easy while ensuring we get the most out of every minute of our students’ time.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit. We are open to discussing flexible working options.

We appreciate that moving to a new school is a significant decision, so we wish to extend an open invite for you to meet us. Please contact Vicky Ovens on 01243 871068 or email vicky.ovens@theregisschool.co.uk to arrange a visit to the school or a phone conversation.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. Interviews will be arranged on the receipt of positive applications.
Closing date: Monday 23rd May 2022 at 9am
