About our Academy
The Charles Read Academy is in Corby Glen, Lincolnshire and it serves the villages between Stamford, Bourne and Grantham. In 2016, we were ranked one of the most improved secondary schools in the country in the performance tables and were proud to be judged 'good' by Ofsted in all areas in February 2022.

We aim to bring out the best in you as well as in our students and we understand the importance of quality CPD. CRA offers a range of development opportunities, with both internal and external providers for staff at different stages in their career. We are responsive to staff needs supporting them with training and development so that they can deliver excellent teaching.

About the role
Plan teaching to achieve progression in students’ learning through:
- Identifying clear teaching objectives and content, appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught, and specifying how these will be taught and assessed
- Setting tasks for the whole class, individual and group, including homework, which challenges and motivates
- Setting appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning, motivation and presentation of work
- Setting clear targets for students’ learning, building on prior attainment, and ensuring that students are aware of the substance and purpose of what they are asked to do
- Support the academy ethos
We require, for a September 2024 start, an enthusiastic and highly committed Science Teacher. As a Science Teacher, you will take a creative approach to working with our pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.
The opportunity of an additional whole school role is also available for discussion at interview.
Whilst the initial role is in Charles Read Academy there is great scope to progress to different schools and roles across the Trust allowing staff opportunities for Post-16 teaching, leadership positions and the chance to take on network-wide responsibilities such as a Subject Lead where desired.
