About the School
Filey School is a small, friendly, coastal school that offers education for students aged 11 to 16. Set in a beautiful location on the Yorkshire coastline, we are a school at an exciting time in its development. Currently we are known as Ebor Academy Filey however, on the 1st June 2022 we will join the highly successful “Coast and Vale Learning Trust” and become ‘Filey School’. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our school as we make rapid progress under new leadership. We, in turn, are looking for a candidate committed to playing a key role in transforming the lives of our young people.
About the Trust
Coast and Vale Learning Trust is a growing family of schools located on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. The Trust was founded by Scalby Secondary School but has grown over the last few years to include Newby and Scalby Primary School, Friarage Primary School and the Scarborough University Technical College (SUTC) in Scarborough and Lady Lumley’s Secondary School in Pickering. Our ambition is to continue to welcome new schools into our Trust where we can add capacity, resources, improvement and make sure all our young people have access to the very best education.
The aim of the trust is to serve all the education community along the North Yorkshire Coast and down the Vale of Pickering. We are committed to supporting all schools in becoming great schools, whether they are part of Coast and Vale Learning Trust or not. About the role
Filey School is looking to appoint a talented and ambitious teacher of Science to join us from September, or earlier if possible. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a passion for exciting in pupils a love of Science through their creative approach to inspiring pupils of all abilities to thrive. The position would suit dynamic teachers who are committed to enriching the learning experiences of our children and who embrace professional development opportunities to enrich their own professional practice. We welcome interest from all colleagues who:
• Want to transform pupil’s lives and develop a love of Science.
• Have experience of teaching Science at Key stage 3 and 4.
• Will support, challenge and engage a diverse cohort of students.
• Will work tirelessly to help our pupils become the best they can be.
• Have a proven track record of raising attainment and standards of teaching and learning within Science.
• Have the ability to understand and apply a range of teaching strategies.
• Have the ability to implement the aims and objectives of the school/trust understanding and working within school/ trust policies to achieve these aims and objectives.
