We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and passionate teacher to join our Science faculty. The precise nature of the teaching load will be negotiated with the successful applicant but may include A Level.
The Faculty delivers a range of GCSE courses including AQA Biology, Chemistry and Physics (Separate Sciences) and AQA Trilogy (Combined Science). The three sciences are extremely popular at A Level. The school has a strong bias to the STEM subjects at KS5 with many pupils pursuing these subjects at degree level. All lessons are taught in a dedicated Science block which benefits from recently refurbished laboratories and a high level of investment in equipment.
We are located in St Albans, a beautiful and vibrant Cathedral city with a lively cultural life and a huge variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and shops. Recently named in the Sunday Times as the best place in the southeast to live, St Albans is surrounded by beautiful countryside but is still only 20 minutes from London by train and with easy access to motorways and airports.
Verulam places great emphasis on extra-curricular activity and engagement, and benefits from outstanding attendance and exemplary behaviour.
