What skills and experience we're looking for
A fantastic opportunity for a well–qualified and ambitious teacher of science to join our dynamic STEM Academy. We are proud to have recently received‘Good’judgements in all categories during our OFSTED visit in April and are particularly pleased that the inspection team acknowledged that:
“Pupils feel valued at IKB”
“Pupils talk with enthusiasm about the school’s specialism of science, technology, engineering and maths”
“Leaders have an ambitious vision for the school”
“Teachers have strong subject knowledge” and
“Teachers say leaders are considerate of staff workload and wellbeing”
We are looking to appoint a teacher who, under the guidance of the Director of Science, will teach predominantly at IKB to Key stage 4 and 5 where all students study three separate science GCSEs. At A level all science subjects are well subscribed and student outcomes in these subjects are amongst the best in the school. We have a talented team of science teachers and can match the specific timetable to the specialism of the suitable candidate, but we are looking for a teacher who if possible can teach Chemistry or Physics. You will teach across the full age and ability range with a focus on KS4 and 5 qualifications in your specialist area.
You will join a school with strong systems and processes that support teacher wellbeing and reduce workload. This includes a consistent and effective behaviour policy that means teaching is undisturbed in lessons, allowing teachers to teach. A teaching and learning policy built upon a strong curriculum including schemes of learning and lesson resources. Teaching teams follow a common Futura curriculum and you will be part of a wider Trust team of subject experts who share resources and planning.
What the school offers its staff
In return we offer:
- A competitive salary
- A full and varied CPD programme offering teaching and leadership development for our staff
- An opportunity to work in a supportive team from whom you can learn, develop and grow
- Wider opportunities to be involved across the Futura Learning Partnership
- An energised and professional working environment
- Benefits include; pension scheme, discounted sports centre/gym membership, free wellbeing support & medical cover, free on-site parking and cycle to work scheme.
Futura Learning Partnership is a partnership of schools which span the Bristol - Keynsham - Bath area that are working together to provide a high quality educational experience for all students in their care and be a truly inclusive provider of 4-19 education in the area.
