Jane Austen College
Be part of the Jane Austen College story! We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science at our thriving academic and inclusive school situated in the heart of Norwich. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative community who are dedicated to ensuring students develop the knowledge and character needed to lead great lives.
Teachers flourish in the supportive but intellectually challenging environment at Jane Austen College and being part of the Inspiration Trust provides excellent opportunities to continue your professional development amongst experts in the field. We place a high value on subject expertise and support teachers through centralised behaviour systems which ensure classrooms are joyful and productive. We believe that all students have the right to access a rich, academic curriculum, whilst also being given the opportunity to pursue a variety of cultural, artistic and sporting pursuits, regardless of background or disadvantage.
As an English and Humanities specialist school with a history of excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level, including STEM A-Levels as part of our unique collaboration with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, it is true to say that our staff write a narrative of success for all our students; ensuring that they all have access to powerful knowledge and transformative extracurricular experiences.
To achieve these aspirational goals, we must have excellent standards of teaching. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about the teaching of Science; the importance of a powerful knowledge curriculum and the value of explicit instruction. Our Science team each specialise in an individual science subject, adding to the unique commitment to curriculum you will find at the school. We are therefore particularly looking for a Physics specialist to replace one of our Physicists who has been promoted within the Trust.
The successful candidate will be passionate about our vision of creating a truly academic and inclusive school, and embrace our school values: be kind, work hard, take responsibility. They will understand the importance of exceptionally high outcomes and the value of working closely with staff, students and families to help every child experience success and joy in their school life.
This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to shape our ongoing story and contribute to exceptional standards of behaviour, attendance and character development.
