Teacher of Science (KS4 Lead) job summary
St Regis is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and versatile teacher to join our Science team and take a lead on Key Stage 4. The Science department is run by a Head of Science and an assistant leading on KS3.
St Regis, formerly The King's, successfully transitioned into the Three Spires Trust at the start of the summer term. We marked the beginning of this journey under a version of our original Latin name, St Regis.
St Regis has rebranded with a new school badge which celebrates the tree that originally appeared on the Regis School badge in 1955. The badge features the cross which appears on the City's coat of arms, a crown to signal our continuing link to 'The King's and the cross keys of St Peter, the academy's sister school. Importantly, the badge also makes a clear reference to the parable from the Gospel's of the mustard seed:
'As a tiny mustard seed grows to become a great tree of life, at St Regis we strive to create an environment where our young people grow into happy and successful adults.'
St Regis (then known as The King's) had a Section 5 inspection from Ofsted in November 2022. The report judged provision to be 'Good' in all six inspection areas. The report states that 'staff go the extra mile to help pupils'.
St Regis works hard to ensure that the taught, tested, enriched and experienced curriculum meets the needs of all our pupils. We expect all pupils to live The St Regis Way - respecting others, being ready to learn, and reaching your potential.
We strongly encourage all candidates to take the opportunity of visiting the academy prior to submitting an application. Please contact Leadership & HR Support Officer on r.claramunt@kingswolverhampton.co.uk to arrange a visit or ask any questions regarding the recruitment process.
We will review applications on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
Three Spires Trust and all its academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including; an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Section 128 direction check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness, identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
Commitment to safeguarding

From 1st September 2023, The King's CE School will be known as St Regis Church of England Academy.
Following a successful transition into the Three Spires Trust at the start of the summer term, we will mark the beginning of the next phase of our journey with the Trust under a version of its original Latin name, St Regis.
John Francis Regis, commonly known as Saint Regis is celebrated across the world as a preacher from 17th century France who worked tirelessly supporting women and children and bringing those in hard to reach areas to faith. As a designated school of sanctuary, where children and families of all faiths and none are celebrated as one community, St Regis Church of England Academy will continue to live out our Christian values, working closely with its sister school St Peter’s Collegiate Academy.
The new name also clearly makes a strong link with the school’s history having previously being named Regis from its opening in 1955 until 1998. Historically, Regis School was one of the first comprehensive schools to open in the country and held a positive and prestigious reputation within the city.
A new school badge celebrates the tree which originally appeared on the initial Regis school badge. The badge features the cross which appears on the City’s coat of arms, a crown to signal our continuing link to ‘The King’ and the cross keys of St Peter, the academy’s sister school. Importantly, the badge also makes clear reference to the parable from the Gospel’s of the mustard seed:
“As a tiny mustard seed grows to become a great tree of life, at St Regis we strive to create an environment where our young people grow into happy and successful adults.”
About St Regis
St Regis is a fully inclusive and truly comprehensive academy. And, as slightly smaller than average in size, we are large enough for every pupil to be known by name. Our pupils are proud to belong to St Regis and have high aspirations. We work hard to ensure that the taught, tested, enriched and experienced curriculum meets the needs of all our pupils.
The school recently had a Section 5 inspection from Ofsted in November 2022. The report judged provision at St Regis (then The King's) to be 'Good' in all six inspection areas and recognised that there is a well-planned curriculum which is broad and ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND, and that pupils learn well, concentrating in lessons and taking pride in their work. The report states that 'staff go the extra mile to help pupils'.
In addition to Ofsted, in May 2022, The King's was officially judged an Excellent Church of England school following a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection. It evaluated how effective the school's distinctive Christian vision is in enabling pupils and adults to flourish. The school received an overall grade of Excellent, with both the impact of collective worship and the effectiveness of religious education (RE) judged to be Excellent.
