Teacher of Science job summary

Newlands is a successful and over-subscribed girls’ 11-18 comprehensive school with a strong reputation for academic achievement. During our recent Ofsted inspection (October 2018) we were graded as Outstanding.

Our excellent GCSE results put us consistently in the top 10% of schools nationwide with 89% achieving passes in both Maths and English. We also have an outstanding success rate at
A-Level with a 100% pass rate and 89% at Grades A*-C.

We are seeking to appoint from January 2022 an enthusiastic teacher to join our Science Department until July 2022. Science is a key subject within the school with all students taking either Separate or Combined Science at GCSE. In 2019, 83% of students achieved 9–4 at GCSE, placing the Science Department among the top schools in the country. At A-Level, 64% achieved A*-B for Biology, 56% achieved A*-B for Chemistry and 50% achieved A*-B for Physics.

The post would be suitable for an NQT as well as a more experienced applicant.
