What skills and experience we're looking for
For September 2024, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic science teacher with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics. A Level teaching will be available for a suitably qualified candidate in their specialism. The successful candidate will need to teach at least two science specialisms at key stage 4 and all specialisms at key stage 3. It is important to us, to have an enthusiastic and engaging Teacher of Science who will join and enrich our strong teaching team. All classes are taught in mixed-ability groups. Teaching science is lively, innovative, creative and rigorous, but – above all – fun. The extra-curricular provision is also very strong with a thriving and successful Science Club, a F1 in Schools group, as well as a host of ‘gifted and talented’ activities and curriculum-based trips and visits.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a very experienced and supportive department with a commitment to deliver practical science. Due to the success of the subject at key stage 4 and key stage 5, a desire to develop the ability to deliver science at A Level would be an advantage. We offer a very strong support programme for teachers who are starting their career and working towards ECT status or returning to teaching after a break and we would consider applications for a part-time or full-time position.
