Salary: MPS/UPS (£23,720 – £39,406 per annum) plus TLR 2A (£2,721 per annum)
• To improve the provision of enrichment experiences in science for all groups of students and starting points.
• To identify and implement opportunities in the curriculum for visitors, speakers and trips to enhance student experience
• To identify and develop careers and future progression links at post 16 and post 18 and linking curriculum learning to careers.
As a result of growth in pupil numbers and promotion of existing post holder, we are looking to appoint subject experts and enthusiasts to our high achieving team who want to work in a school where:
• science is valued by students and families;
• where the majority of students go on to study science at A level;
• where results in science have been significantly above national averages for many years and are in the top 5% nationally;
• where the school’s progress 8 score is significantly above average at +0.75 for two consecutive years and ranked in the top 5% nationally;
• where there is a strong academic ethos and high expectations of students;
• where behaviour management is centralised and teachers are enabled to flourish.
The successful candidates will teach sciences throughout the age range, including all three subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE. The academy is well placed to offer a comprehensive support package to NQTs from all routes into teaching, including PGCE, SCITT and Schools Direct. Both new and established teachers will be supported and encouraged to develop their practice by engaging in the numerous opportunities to collaborate share ideas with colleagues within our Professional Learning programme.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.
