Job Advert

Teacher of Science (Biology) - Maternity cover (April 2025-April 2026)

The Science department is highly successful in consistently delivering successful outcomes for all our students across the key stages. In 2024 our progress for KS4 students was in the 99th percentile, something we are incredibly proud of. At A level outcomes are similarly strong with many of our science students going on to study STEM related courses at University including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. The successful candidate will find this to be a highly rewarding role in a well established and supportive curriculum area.

We particularly welcome applications from teachers who have experience of teaching A level Biology, however we can ably support teachers with less experience at A level. We follow Edexcel SNAB Biology at KS5

The post is being advertised as full time, however we are open to discussing flexible working within the constraints of our time table. If you are interested in this, then please indicate this in your application.

We are a very happy school community at Excalibur Academies Trust and will provide the post holder(s) with outstanding opportunities to progress and contribute to the continuing development of both our schools and Trust. Please be aware, that we will review applications as we receive them and reserve the right to close this posting once suitable candidates have been found. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible in order to be considered.

The hustle and bustle of beautiful Bristol on your doorstep!

About Redland Green School: Redland Green School is a special place, with a community culture, in which everyone belongs. With our values of RESPECT, AMBITION and RESPONSIBILITY at the centre of all we do, we are immensely proud of the atmosphere of care and kindness felt in classrooms and corridors, offices and social spaces. Whilst academic excellence is always a focus, it is our dedication to whole-person development that makes our school unique. We promote and prioritise staff learning just as much as student learning; believing that teachers and support staff, engaged in their own development, make the very best role models and create exciting classrooms for our students. We do not believe in a one-size fits all approach to education and so welcome teachers with a love of their subject, who are keen to learn more about their craft and plan effective and exciting lessons. As such we offer an excellent CPD programme. This has been designed to sustain a professional and vibrant learning community, where every member of staff sees themselves as a learner and contributes to the continued development of the school. With this in mind, we are looking for staff with the creative energy and commitment to make the most of the opportunities available, fostering the very best climate for learning, for all our young people. If appointed at RGS, you will be welcomed into a community that cares for you, challenges and champions your development, with a commitment to your career in education, that will be happy and successful. Please read the details of the post and department below. If you feel you are aligned with our school values and are interested in the opportunity to work in our department, please complete the application form. All successful applicants will be invited to interview at RGS, to see if we can work together.

All tasks and the theme of interview questions you can expect, will be shared in advance, as part of our commitment to equal opportunities and diverse thinkers. However, we urge you not to over prepare answers, as we want to get to know the real you.
