Sponne is a successful, over-subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics at GCSE and a positive Progress 8 score.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of Science within our outstanding Science faculty with effect from September 2021. The successful candidate will have experience and a proven record of achieving high outcomes in the teaching of GCSE Sciences and ideally A Level (within either Biology, Chemistry or Physics). They will have excellent interpersonal skills and will maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement. The role is suitable for NQTs and experienced colleagues.
All students in years 7 to 11 study Science with more than 25% completing the three separate Sciences at GCSE. Science outcomes are extremely high and all of the science subjects are very popular at A level.
The faculty is friendly and supportive with excellent facilities. Students are enthusiastic and hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive.
The successful candidate will:
· Have Qualified Teacher Status
· Have good teaching skills
· Meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.
· Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK
