What we are looking for:
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Science teacher to join our talented team atTewkesbury Academy. We are a 11-18 school offering a range of courses at KS4 and 5 including GCSE, A Levels and BTEC level 3 qualifications. We are an ambitions organisation on a journey to promote equity in education and transform students’ learning. We are excited to be entering our second year working as part of theCabot Learning Federation. As the only secondary school in our town, we are proud of our status as a true comprehensive and delight in the strong relationships we have with our community.
Our science teachers are supported by 3 full time technicians who accommodate teacher requests and ensure that students experience a wide variety of practical lessons. Each science teacher has their own lab, fully stocked with class sets of specialist equipment. Extra-curricular science clubs, strong careers links and participation in national competitions mean that Tewkesbury Academy’s science department is an exciting and vibrant place to work.
A well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree, you will have the ability to teach Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. We look for professionals whohave excellent class management skills and have high expectations of work and behaviour.
We have several positions available, and welcome applicants from all disciplines, with a preference for chemistry and physics specialists. There is the possibility of a TLR for the right candidate.
