What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for teaching staff to join us in September 2023.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our very successful Science Department. The UTC offers a full range of qualifications and experiences in this sector. An innovative and very hands on KS3 curriculum along with the full range of KS4 Science GCSEs, either Combined ( 2 GCSEs) or Separate Sciences (3 GCSEs) has meant that Science is very popular at the UTC. More than half of the cohort now opt to follow the Separate Sciences route. At KS5 students can follow A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Level 3 BTEC National qualifications in Applied Science. Our mission is to Educate, Engage and Enthuse a new generation of scientifically minded and literate young people.

The ideal candidate could come from a background related to Science. For a good quality teacher, we can provide the resources, experiences and opportunities to develop their subject expertise and craft.

We offer a real team approach, excellent, purpose built resources and wonderfully engaged young people.

We are looking to employ the very best teachers and support staff whose primary focus will be to drive academic excellence. We welcome applications from ECT’s.

What the school offers its staff

We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to be part of a successful team. In return the UTC offers:

  • Exceptional teaching environment
  • Working in collaboration with Thomas Telford School MAT
  • Close links with the University of Wolverhampton
  • Payments for cover lessons

Commitment to safeguarding

The UTC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced clearance for the UTC.
