Teacher of Science with a Physics specialism job summary
Reepham High School and College is an 11-18 comprehensive school set in the picturesque Norfolk countryside, just 12 miles north of Norwich. The school has approximately 1,100 students, including around 240 in the sixth form, known as Reepham College. We serve a wide rural catchment area, as well as the town of Reepham itself.
Our students are kind, hardworking, and a pleasure to teach. Their prior attainment is in line with the national average, and they are highly motivated to succeed. Our sixth form provision is a particular strength, with A-level outcomes consistently placing us in the top 25% of post-16 providers nationally.
Our whole-school pedagogy is informed by Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction and underpinned by a knowledge-rich curriculum. We place strong emphasis on consistent, whole-school routines, which help to create a calm and orderly environment where both students and staff can thrive. Positive relationships between staff and students and among colleagues are central to our ethos, alongside high expectations for both conduct and achievement.
We are seeking to appoint a Physics teacher to join our excellent Science department as we look ahead to an exciting 2026-2027 academic year, following a successful school restructure. The successful candidate will join a supportive department within a warm and caring school community. We are looking for a team player with strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to students.
Ideally, you will have a background in Physics or a closely related discipline and be confident teaching Physics up to and including A-level. You should also be willing to contribute to the teaching of Science at Key Stage 3, and potentially at Key Stage 4 if required.
If you would like to discuss the role, please contact: Stuart Murray, Head of Science smurray@reephamhigh.org.uk
Please be aware that Reepham High School and College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. References will be sought and the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
