Science Teacher for September start full time, part time will be considered, July start will be considered

Wye School is part of United Learning, a group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.

Wye School opened in September 2013 with a single intake of Year 7 students who delivered our excellent first GCSE results in August 18. We are a mixed comprehensive school. Ofsted praised our, ‘very vibrant and strong leadership... clear and aspirational vision,’ and, ‘high level of ambition for the students and the school.’ We are over-subscribed and are only interested in appointing teachers who aim to challenge and fully support outstanding progress for every student.

We are now looking to add to our close-knit team of dedicated and dynamic teaching staff. We want to appoint a Teacher of Science, full time, part time will be considered, and who is capable of teaching KS3 Science and GCSE Science, with A Level Sciences a welcome extra. You would be joining a very successful and well organised department that achieved outstanding results in its first two sets of GCSEs in both trilogy and triple science GCSEs. Biology, Chemistry, Physics and general Science specialists are equally welcome to apply.

We welcome applications from candidates with varying degrees of experience, including NQTs and trainee teachers. Our Science department is friendly and works as a team and is a great place to work. We get external support from United Learning whose Science advisor provides resources, suggested teaching and learning tools, training and moderated assessment materials.

Applications will be considered on receipt. Suitable candidates will be interviewed on receipt of application and Wye School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
