What skills and experience we're looking for

Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint a teacher, specialising in SEND, at Saint Paul’s Catholic High School.

We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational teacher who is passionate about inclusion for pupils with additional needs, and will be a true champion to really drive and improve outcomes for some of our most vulnerable pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Promote the Catholic ethos of Saint Paul’s and model teachings in everyday practice.
  • Teach students according to their individual and educational needs, whilst setting high expectations to inspire, challenge and motivate.
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for inclusion and committed to developing aspirations, a growth mindset and a thirst for further learning.
  • Be a highly dynamic individual who consistently delivers innovative teaching and where possible, has a proven track record of outstanding progress in external examinations.
  • Be open to new ideas, committed to working as part of a team and of course have a good sense of humour.
  • Have tact and diplomacy in establishing effective relationships with staff, pupils, and their families.
  • Work closely with a range of external agencies to develop and deliver personalised support programmes for students with additional needs and challenges.
  • Assess individual needs and set student targets relating to attainment, progress, social and emotional health, behaviour, attitudes and wellbeing.
  • Implement strategies to address the underperformance of individuals, develop engagement in learning and measure the impact.
  • Have the ability to promote, build and secure excellent working relationships with the community, including local businesses to secure effective work placements and opportunities
  • Have some understanding of a play based curriculum and how to ensure progress through practical application of skills.
