We welcome applications from teachers who are able to teach at least two of the following subjects to A-Level: Sociology, Psychology, Law, Politics or Philosophy.

At Jane Austen College we believe in creating an exceptional environment for teachers, as it is our teachers who transform our students’ lives. We deliver an aspirational, academic curriculum and place a high value on teacher expertise and subject knowledge. We believe that all students have the right to access a rich, academic curriculum, regardless of background or disadvantage. We are looking for a teacher who shares that belief and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for their students.

You will have the opportunity to shape a growing department as we develop our curriculum and establish our approach to teaching social sciences. You will work with the head of department and the rest of the subject team to create a department that aims to set the standard nationally.

Jane Austen College is an 11-19 secondary school in the heart of Norwich. In our first set of GCSE results 75% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and Maths, and our A-level results have been the top of all state sixth forms in Norwich for the third year in a row. Social Science subjects consistently perform above the national average. We are an English specialist school, with an additional post-16 specialism in humanities and the arts. We are also partnered with the Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form – the region’s first maths and science specialist sixth form.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, we offer high-quality, personalised professional development, in addition to excellent career development opportunities. At Jane Austen College, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise as a teacher and also develop your career, in a supportive and stimulating environment.
