We are looking for a well-qualified and inspirational teacher to teach A Level Sociology. The person we appoint must have a lively and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, the ability to teach to a high academic standard at A Level, and a commitment to the learning and well-being of all young people. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with young people who value excellent teaching, enjoy learning about the subject, and want to work hard to succeed.
You will have the privilege, and challenge, of working in an exclusively A Level Sixth Form College with students that enjoy learning and have a determination to do well in their academic studies.
We look to appoint appropriately qualified teachers who enjoy teaching, thrive in an academic environment and who recognise that success in a Sixth Form College goes beyond academic success within a particular subject. You may have a background in teaching another Social Science subject but have developed a knowledge, interest and passion for Sociology and now wish to teach this at A Level. We would be interested to hear from you.
You will be supported by a team of equally committed colleagues who are working collaboratively to create an amazing Sixth Form College for our students. Abbeygate Sixth Form College is part of the Suffolk Academies Trust, working closely with One Sixth Form College and West Suffolk College. Abbeygate opened in 2019, with a Year 12 cohort only; in September 2020 we moved into our brand new state of the art building, accommodating both Year 12 and 13. We offer a broad and balanced A Level curriculum, with a wide range of activities and opportunities to enrich and extend students’ experience to develop well-rounded individuals with the essential skills required for their future studies and careers.
