Sponne is a successful, over-subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics at GCSE and a positive Progress 8 score.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented teacher to join our vibrant and extremely successful Humanities faculty team in September 2021. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and will maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement. The successful candidate will be able to deliver subjects including Sociology, Psychology and Health and Social care predominantly within our sixth form. The post is likely to be full time but could be less depending on the subjects offered.

The Social Sciences department forms a key part of the successful Humanities faculty at Sponne and is very popular with students across all subjects. Students are enthusiastic and hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive. Applicants are welcome from experienced colleagues and NQT’s who would be supported by a thorough induction programme.

The successful candidate will:

· Have Qualified Teacher Status

· Have good teaching skills

· Meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.

· Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK
