Outwood Academy Valley is a popular and oversubscribed school in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire. The academy has 1500 students aged 11 to 16 and shares a Post 16 Centre, which has 500 students, with Outwood Academy Portland. The Post 16 Centre is just a two-minute walk from the school. Both sites have excellent facilities providing a modern and motivational learning and working environment. Outwood Post 16 Centre builds on the great work of the Outwood Academies in Worksop to provide first class A level education.
Courses are delivered by many of the same outstanding teachers who teach at Outwood Academy Portland and Outwood Academy Valley and also include specialist Post 16 teachers to provide students with a unique mix that generates the very best experience. Outwood’s amazingly successful teaching styles continue to expand so students at the Post 16 Centre receive even greater levels of challenge and development, while continuing to build on their collaboration skills, leadership styles and higher order communication techniques that we have embedded at GCSE.
The Academy wishes to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Sociology/Psychology specialist, who will work with our team that offers outstanding A Level provision. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject at Key Stage 5 is essential, as is a passion for Sociology. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Your relentless drive will ensure our students gain the best possible outcomes.
