Teacher of Sociology
Part Time or Full Time, Permanent Position
M1 - UPS3: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Required from Easter 2025 or September 2025
The Kimberley School is a rewarding and exciting place to work. Our aim is for every child to achieve or surpass their academic and social potential and we achieve this through providing an outstanding quality of education, underpinned by a strong programme of care, guidance, support and enrichment.
We are looking for someone who can teach Sociology at A-Level in our highly successful Sixth Form. The ability to teach all or some of the Psychology A-Level course would also be desirable. This is a unique opportunity to join our highly successful Sixth Form team. The successful candidate will be based in our recently built dedicated Sixth Form Centre and will join an outstanding team who consistently deliver excellent outcomes for all students that are significantly above national averages. This post is suitable for experienced candidates who are looking to work with an outstanding team; or for Newly Qualified Teachers. As a lead partner in the East Midlands Teacher Training Partnership, and an early adopter of the Early Career Framework, we are well placed to support teachers at the start of their career.
The advertised post is part time and we require someone on a 0.6 full time equivalent (fte) contract for Sociology and Psychology. However, we will consider applications from candidates who are looking for anything above 0.6 fte, if they are willing to teach outside of these specialist areas. We will also consider applications from candidates looking for a full-time post if, again, they are willing to and have the capability, to teach outside of these subject areas. Ideally we are looking for the successful candidate to start at the beginning of the Spring term, though a September start would be acceptable for the right candidate.
