What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and innovative teacher of Spanish with French or German to join our supportive, passionate Languages Department at Noadswood.

In recent years, these subjects at KS4 have remained important in our school because of the experience of our colleagues and their care over the delivery of the curriculum and their attention to every individual that they teach. We look to increase our numbers pursuing their KS4 study of Spanish, French or German through this appointment, as well as the re-introduction of our previous menu of trips, residential activities and exchanges (prior to Covid, our German exchange was a fantastic success, for instance!)

At Key Stage 3, the curriculum is engaging and fun, and our department corridor is filled with praise, enjoyment and even some singing! We look forward to having the capacity to develop greater links with our primary schools in the development of an equally rich Key Stage 2/3 curriculum over the next few years.

Colleagues’ shared purpose is to inspire and challenge all the young people at Noadswood, and you would be joining a very special team which looks after each other and the students, and which is well organised, resourced and always keen to reflect and develop.

We are looking to appoint a candidate who has the skill to ensure learners of all abilities engage with their learning, make progress, achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation of the joys of learning another language – we can’t wait to hear from you.

What the school offers its staff

You would become part of the wider Noadswood family effortlessly, too, because of how welcoming and supportive we are, something commented on by all candidates and visitors alike. You will benefit from our commitment to your induction and a rich professional development programme that will offer you bespoke opportunities along with department, whole school and collaborative CPD with schools across our local area.

Whilst this role is advertised as Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Range dependent on experience, there is also scope, for the right candidate to be offered a post as a Lead Practitioner, paid at LP2 (£45,635) with additional responsibilities for curriculum development, enrichment activities across the Department and a whole school contribution to Noadswood's Continuing Professional Development Roadmap.

Commitment to safeguarding

Noadswood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection processes reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks, along with other relevant employment checks.
