Rickmansworth School is an 11-18 heavily oversubscribed co-educational partially (35%) selective academy with nearly 1400 students on roll, increasing to around 1575 students over the next five years. Academic results are strong at KS4 and KS5 with the vast majority of students securing their first choice university destinations.
The School is in a very strong, stable financial position with over £4m recently spent on school expansion including a new Sixth-form centre, performing arts theatres and an Innovation & Design Centre. The School is also supported extremely well by a fantastic PTA and Foundation. Our outstanding staff well-being programme includes fortnightly well-being periods, access to our fitness suite and swimming pool, flu vaccinations and complimentary eye tests. The School’s admissions criteria gives preference to staff members’ children.

Following the ‘resurrection’ of Technology at Rickmansworth School, the opportunity has arisen to appoint a part time Teacher of Technology. The post will require the successful applicant to deliver Technology mainly to KS3 for the majority of their timetable. This position will require teaching across four days per week with at least one full day off per week plus other half-days.
The successful candidate will:
Be an outstanding teacher of Technology up to GCSE Level
Teach students using a variety of teaching and learning strategies, ensuring that lessons are stimulating, differentiated and delivered at pace
Be responsible and accountable for the learning and progress of every student
Have a sound understanding of current Health & Safety guidance and legislation relating to safe working practices in Technology education
Contribute to department planning for learning; this includes writing schemes of work or long-term plans and creating and sharing resources
Assess students’ achievements regularly according to School policy

Rickmansworth School is an 11-19 heavily oversubscribed co-educational partially (35%) selective converter academy with 1260 on roll, expanding to 1450 over the next five years. Judged 'Good' by Ofsted (November 2017). Staff development was recognised as an area of excellence by Challenge Partners (March 2018), with 3 staff achieving national finals in the last 2 years. Academic results are strong with a GCSE Progress 8 score of +0.25 (sig +ve) and EBacc 40%, whilst at A level almost 50% entries achieved A* -B grades, with 100% students securing first choice destinations.
