  •  Teacher of Technology Main Pay Range £25,714 - £41,604 Maternity Cover, October 2021 Commencing September 2021 
    0.8 FTE
     We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional teacher to join our forward thinking Technology department at Newfield School. Newfield School is part of Mercia Learning Trust, one of the most successful Trusts in the Yorkshire and Humber region, changes the lives of over 3000 children and young people in Sheffield and is continuing to grow.  We are a small team of passionate staff teaching a range of curriculum including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Food, Electronics and CAD CAM.  Design and Technology is well resourced at our school. The school is equipped with outstanding facilities in the form of specialist classrooms and a large materials preparation area. We have fully equipped workshops with a range of materials and processing equipment as well as a CAD CAM room with a suite of 30 PCs with 2D vector and 3D Autodesk software. We also have 2 3D printers, 2 large bed laser cutters and a wide range of machines for engineering processes including heat treatment and lathes.  Would you like to be a driving force for these ambitious priorities and make a real difference in our school and across the Trust?  You will have the ability to inspire and engage students using your knowledge and enthusiasm of the subjects.  Imaginative and committed, you will have a proven track record of success and high expectations of our students. As part of the department, you will need to keep up to date with educational research that will improve practice, collaborate with the Head of Department and technicians to contribute to the department's excellent schemes of learning and resources.   You will be: 
    •        Passionate about technology; 

  •        Able to demonstrate and deliver excellent teaching; 

  •        Someone with a clear vision in how to develop students with an impact on achievement; 

  •        A good understanding of how to track student progress and make appropriate interventions to improve standards.
