Currently, the department has three fully functional workshops, two kitchens, a preparation room and state of the art CAD software. Following the IB Middle Years Programme for Design, the department currently delivers a range of focused curriculum areas including Food & Nutrition, Graphics, Resistant Materials and Textiles at Key Stage 3, students can then progress to GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition (AQA) and/or GCSE Design Technology (AQA) at KS4, and BTEC Engineering is offered to the Sixth Form. High expectations are set within the department for both teachers and students. The successful candidate is committed to developing their teaching, taking on board new initiatives and experimenting with a wide range of teaching styles and strategies. In addition, the Technology department offer a wide range of after school sessions, currently including the Kitchen Garden, Film Prop Production, and GCSE Masterclasses.
