• Excellent professional development opportunities.
• A friendly and supportive learning environment with excellent student/staff relationships
• An exciting, modern state-of-the-art building with unrivalled facilities
West Lakes Academy was inspected in March 2017 and judged to be outstanding in all aspects. A key strength of this report was "Pupils currently in the school are making rapid and sustained progress across all subject areas. Outcomes are particularly impressive."
We are looking for someone who can improve on that already outstanding performance.
We are a thriving, ambitious and forward thinking 11-18 academy situated on the edge of the beautiful Lake District. Our modern £26m building provides outstanding facilities, incorporating cutting edge technology which creates a bright and motivational learning environment. As a Teaching School hub and Multi Academy Trust we are building strong links with other schools in the local area and nationally. This role therefore provides significant career development opportunities as we continue to grow. We offer a comprehensive programme of individualised, evidence based CPD as well as encouraging colleagues to further their development through courses such as the National Professional Qualifications, a Masters degree, or supporting extra-curricular qualifications.
The academy’s Sponsors - Sellafield Limited, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and the University of Central Lancashire have each played an important role in its success and are committed to its continued improvement.
The academy has been heavily oversubscribed for the past 5 years, last year seeing 438 applications for 180 places. At the time of advertising we have 1236 students on roll.
We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and inspirational teacher to join a collaborative and experienced team with a passion for technology. You will be supported by an exceptional team of technicians and will be prepared to work hard to ensure that every student makes exceptional progress.
We are equipped with two technology classroom workshops, a food specific classroom and a textiles specific room. Technology also has access to its own upgraded computer suite to provide a truly outstanding learning environment for all
