What skills and experience we're looking for
- Be an excellent classroom teacher
- Have a full understanding of the curriculum requirements for Key Stage 1
- Have a good understanding of AfL and the monitoring of pupil progress, including the use of data
- Have a good grasp of relevant aspects of child development leading to appropriate and effective personalised learning
- Be committed to equal opportunities, in line with the school policies and relevant legislation
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management strategies
- Be able to provide security and enjoyment for the children and maintain good order and discipline throughout the school day
- Have a very positive and sensitive attitude towards children with SEND or other additional needs
- Have a secure understanding of ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022' and ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children'
- Be supportive to and respectful of colleagues
- Be able to communicate well with parents/carers, Governors and others within the school community
- Have an understanding of cultural needs and sensitivities relating to race, religion and the wider community
- Be totally committed to doing what is in the best interest of all the children, both individually and as a group
- Be positive, flexible, well organised and efficient
- Be aware of health and safety issues relevant to working in a school
- Be able to act appropriately and decisively in the case of an emergency
- Be committed to Continuing Professional Development
