What skills and experience we're looking for
We are especially interested in teachers with experience and passion in teaching in EYFS or Year 6. However, we are most interested in getting the right people for our team. Therefore we encourage all excellent teachers who are interested in our school to apply.
Following the successful promotion of some of our wonderful staff members, we are looking to appoint inspirational and creative class teachers who will enhance our excellent staff team. Successful candidates will be committed to “bringing out the best” in every member of our school community, especially themselves.
What the school offers its staff
As you will know, schools in the UK are currently facing challenges. We are no exception. Within our school we have children who are new to English joining us from international destinations; children living in poverty; high numbers of children with additional needs …just like lots of other primary schools. We don’t tell you this to put you off. We tell you this because we know that there will be amazing teachers out there who are just as passionate as we are about giving children the best life chances. If you are one of them, we want you to apply. We expect hard work and dedication and in exchange for this, we offer you comradery, sensible leadership decisions which support your workload and wellbeing, professional development, amazing children, laughs, family, a great community and a team who strive together for excellence.
Our children has asked for a teacher who:
- Is kind, helpful and will care for them
- Is curious and excited to learn
- Is hardworking and organised (honestly, that was what they said!)
- Is strict but cares about us
- Recognises that they are all wonderful
- Is respectful of everyone in and around our school
- Is happy and positive and can be funny
- “Makes us be the best we can be”
Our staff want a colleague who:
- Is a team player; someone who is friendly, approachable and gets stuck in
- Is dedicated to getting the best for our Devonshire Road children and is resilient when facing a challenge
- Is interested in finding out how individual children learn, and is sensitive to all needs
- Is enthusiastic and fun whilst being very professional
- Is upbeat and positive with a good sense of humour
- Is interested in developing their own pedagogy and the school’s curriculum in order to get the best outcomes for our children
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
