The Holgate Academy has an opportunity for a specialist teacher to join our Spring Learning Centre (behaviour unit); our alternative learning provision. This Teacher position will cover a range of subjects and lead the new SL2 Unit, which will focus on Year 6 and 7 students.
In Spring Learning we are a team of educators who are dedicated to supporting students who, for a variety of reasons struggle within mainstream education. Our team philosophy is ‘Everyone has a right to an education’.
Currently Spring Learning consists of 2 units – SL3 (Key Stage 3) and SL4 (Key Stage 4). Each unit has a maximum of 15 students, with support from 2 staff at all times. The key responsibility of this role will be to support and develop our new SL2 Unit. This unit will consist of Year 6 and 7 students who are deemed ‘not secondary ready’ due to a range of issues. Students will be on site 4 days per week and return to their home school on the 5th day; the focus for the SL2 Unit is to support students in returning to the mainstream educational setting as quickly as behaviours allow.
We are looking for an educator who shares our drive and determination in ensuring individuals make the best of their education while in school. Your skills will help develop and enhance a small team in supporting and reintegrating young people back into mainstream education.
