What skills and experience we're looking for
Shaftesbury High School is looking to appoint a Year 7 SEND Teacher from September 2024.
Following a primary model in Year 7 is part of our induction to students to support them moving to Year 8 and beyond, where students will then follow a Secondary Timetable model.
We are looking to recruit a SEND teacher to work with a Year 7 class who will provide learning that will make a lasting change to our students. This post will be ideal for a Secondary SEND teacher or an Upper Primary Teacher who would like to work in a secondary setting.
Our Year 7 curriculum is ambitious and engaging. The annual Year 7 skiing sessions are a firm favourite. Our Year 7 curriculum has a real purpose in starting to prepare our students for employability and life.
At Shaftesbury we recognise that academic success for our students is a combination of high quality teaching, a well-designed curriculum, and meeting the student’s pastoral needs.
What the school offers its staff
Becoming part of the Shaftesbury team is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to work in a culture that has high expectations for students with SEND.
Understanding the importance of work/ life balance and wellbeing is at the heart of our leadership and our learning.
We view professional development as an important part of ensuring our students have the best possible academic and personal experiences whilst at Shaftesbury.
Commitment to safeguarding
Shaftesbury High School is committed to safeguarding, inclusive practice and equal opportunities for all.
All jobs will be subject to successful DBS checks and reference checks.
