Teacher job summary
If the above resonates with you, an exciting opportunity has arisen in Salisbury for you to be part of the successful team shaping its vision for education at our school, St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy. OFSTED noted our many strengths when they inspected in November 2022 and we are already planning the next stage of our expansion and development to take the school to the next level. We are seeking to appoint at least one teacher from September 2024 to help us realise the final stage in our growth and become a two-form entry primary school. As you read this advert, the final four classrooms are being built so it is an exciting time to join our team.
ECTs and aspiring leaders alike are welcome to apply. For those that are new to working in schools, we have a proven track record of taking on ECTs. Indeed, in the last 5 years, seven ECTs have begun their career here. Pleasingly, they are still here, with several in middle leadership positions. For those with more experience, we are also a breeding ground for aspiring senior leaders. Our current assistant headteacher was in only her third year of teaching when she joined the team, and in a school this size, there are always opportunities to develop, especially for those that have spent 3-5 years developing outstanding classroom practice, and are now ready for the next step.
Located to the west of Salisbury, the heart of a vibrant new community, St. Peter’s is set in extensive grounds overlooking the Wiltshire countryside. The building has state of the art facilities including a multi-use hall, Forest School, Multi-Use-Games-Area (MUGA), food-technology room and a purpose-built nursery setting.
St Peter’s is a welcoming and stimulating environment which enables all children to thrive. We have developed an active, exciting and fast-paced curriculum which stimulates, engages and stretches all children whilst engendering them with a lifelong love of learning. Through personalised learning and sky-high expectations, all children are able to flourish and experience success. We are a strong, caring and supportive school community where children are encouraged to be reflective and proactive learners.
Please have a look at the attached letter from the headteacher as well as the job description and video prospectus on this page.
If you are keen to find out more about the role, please get in touch with Sarah Williams, our Hub Business Manager who will be able to arrange tours of the school (led by senior staff). Contact details below.
Due to our expansion by three classrooms and redeployment of staff, the successful candidate will have a say in whether their classroom is KS1 or KS2. Indeed, at interview, candidates will be able to choose which key stage they would like to teach in front of. Please make your preferred Key Stage clear in the first paragraph of your application statement.
