Teacher with responsibility for SEND job summary
SENDCo
We have an exciting opportunity for an teacher with an interest in SEND to join our staff team. SEND at Conway is streamlined and our pupils receive a fantastic offer and, whilst our SENDCo is on maternity leave, we want to make sure this continues. We offer a full package of support and training to ensure that you are able to make an impact. Initially it is a one-year contract to cover maternity leave with the possibility of a permanent contract at the end.
We welcome visits to the school so that you can see us in action and meet our wonderful staff and pupils.
You will have:-
Qualified Teacher status
Experience of working at a whole-school level across the different phases
An understanding of what makes 'quality first' teaching, and of effective intervention strategies
Commitment to help meet the needs of SEN pupils
Experience of difficult conversations with a range of stakeholders
Ability to communicate in home language would be advantageous but not essential
You will be:-
Skilled in contributing to and implementing strategic direction and operation management
Able to make consistent judgements based on careful analysis of available evidence
Committed to inclusion and raising the standards for all
Sell-aware, reflective, adaptable and emotionally intelligent
Able to build effective working relationships quickly
Commitment to safeguarding
