Teacher - Year 4
This position is for a full time Year Four teacher covering all aspects of planning, teaching and class management (temporary for 1.5 terms). We are looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic, creative and committed to raising standards for all children. The teacher will be expected to identify clear learning objectives and plan for sequences of learning across all subject areas in the primary curriculum. The sequences of learning must take account of varying needs building on children’s prior attainment. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of meeting the needs of all pupils including SEND pupils and the most-able. The class teacher will be expected to complete all assessment procedures in line with school policies. At Moon’s Moat First School our staff nurture all children and our ethos is ‘Children learn what they live.’ Teachers must be able to form positive relationships with children and have excellent behaviour management skills. The teacher will have teaching assistants supporting them in the classroom. We require someone who is hard working, flexible and able to make an active contribution to the broader life of the school.
Essential educational requirements
Ability to work as an excellent classroom teacher in Key Stage 2 and able to work as part of a team. An understanding of what constitutes high quality standards in learning and teaching. Strategies for inclusion and ability to meet the needs of all learners. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet individual needs. A willingness to adopt a range of learning strategies to engage all learners. High expectations of all children. Strong knowledge of the teaching of reading.
Relevant teaching qualification and experience (can include experienced teachers or NQTs)
Essential skills and experience
Recent and relevant classroom experience. Ability to form successful relationships with children and have excellent behaviour management skills. Ability to adopt a nurturing approach to classroom management. A high commitment to the welfare of children and clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. Excellent rapport with children and an ability to make learning exciting. Good interpersonal / communication skills. The ability to work flexibly and be able to prioritise and use his/her own initiative. Ability to deploy support staff effectively. Follow the policies and practices of the school. Liaise effectively with parents and external agencies who work with children. Be a good role model at all times and a team player.
