Teachers for The Bucks Primary Pupil Referral Unit (roles in Aylesbury and Amersham).
It’s remarkable how the small things in life make the biggest of differences. Take behaviour for instance. It is no secret that promoting positive behaviour makes more than a vital contribution to pupil achievement and success in later life. And this is where you come in….
We are looking to recruit two teachers, preferably with Key Stage 2 experience or the ability to quickly pick up the Key Stage 2 curriculum. The roles are based at Pathways PRU in Aylesbury and the other at The Oaks PRU in Amersham, but there will be some travel to other sites as required as we are all part of one PRU team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the different provisions offered by the PRU and will give you a chance to develop and consolidate excellent behaviour management skills.
We have high expectations of our pupils and, as a class teacher, you will need to be adaptable and build the curriculum around pupils and their needs.
Working at the PRU is not always a bed of roses, but then nothing worthwhile achieving ever is. Each day brings different challenges and that is why it is so rewarding to work here. You will receive all the support and training you need from our friendly team. Once fully trained you will have opportunities to work with colleagues in mainstream schools as part of our outreach service.
These are full time roles but part time may be considered for the right applicant.

Essential skills and experience
We are looking to recruit a teacher, preferably with Key Stage 2 experience or the ability to quickly pick up the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
Our pupils enjoy working with staff who take the time to get to know them, challenge them academically and support them with their emotional well being and provide them with the opportunities to shine.
If you are innovative, motivated, flexible and resilient and you have a proven track record as a successful teacher with strong behaviour management practice, then we would like to hear from you. We believe in giving all of our staff opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be a success so we are also happy to hear from you if you are in the early stages of your career as a teacher, with the drive and passion to develop the attributes we look for in our teachers. These are full time, permanent roles; however, if you are the right person for us then we may consider flexibility about a part time position.
We will offer you a varied and challenging work place, with pupils who are brilliant and keen to learn but who will stretch your skills. There are opportunities for your own continued professional development.
We also offer a range of employee benefits including wellbeing support and discounted lifestyle benefits such as gym membership. The role based in Amersham attracts Fringe allowance and both roles have a SEN allowance.
